ABOUT ME
Hi, I’m Darrell
I have been building for the web for over a decade, starting in 2012 by turning design mockups into custom WordPress sites. Today I am a senior web developer at Homewood Health, where I contribute to front-end development as part of a collaborative team on the company’s primary web applications. I also own and maintain six of its customer-facing WordPress sites.
Along the way I have led a team of four developers, reviewed work throughout development, and trained numerous clients to run their own sites after launch. I enjoy working closely with designers and project managers, building reusable components, and making sure every public-facing site meets WCAG 2.1 AA. Accessibility and performance are not add-ons for me. They are just what “done” looks like.
Right now I am exploring AI-assisted development with Claude Code, and where it genuinely improves everyday coding and code quality.
Outside of work I’m lifting, running, or on the bouldering wall. I also play One Piece TCG, and I’m working up to my first locals. The rest of my time goes to my family.
